ATS Front Metal LSD
Metal LSD has a sharp and strong differential lock performance, which is very effective for FF vehicles that do not oversteer when accelerating.
However, for FR cars, it is necessary to take countermeasures against oversteer at corner exits (car settings and driving measures).
On the other hand, understeer countermeasures at the corner entry can be eliminated to some extent by selecting a 1-way or 1.5-way cam. Compared to carbon LSD, it is inferior in terms of time reduction and noise generation, but it has the advantage of withstanding rough oil temperature control.
Care must be taken when selecting LSD oil to avoid abnormal noise. The standard model is the Type R specification that maximizes the differential lock force for FF, FR, and 4WD vehicles, and the standard model for FR vehicles is the Deftforce specification for drifting with further increased initial torque.
If you want an LSD with less noise, choose a silent LSD.
Since the φ87 series has two types of clutch plates with different thicknesses, there are specifications for 16, 20, and 24 built-in plates depending on the model.
