ATS Rear Carbon LSD

The carbon hybrid LSD is an LSD that suppresses the wear of the carbon tip and suppresses the drop in initial torque by properly arranging the metal plate inside the carbon plate.
Note: The decrease in initial torque cannot be stopped. The initial torque can be reduced by repeating the adjustment three or four times.
The performance and operational feeling of carbon hybrid LSD in Japan and overseas for the past 5 years shows that there is no difference in performance and operation feeling with full carbon LSD, and only durability is improved.
By delaying the drop in initial torque, changes in the locking performance of the LSD are suppressed, so the accuracy of setting each part is improved and driving skills are accelerated.
Since the plate in contact with the cam ring wears out quickly, the two carbon plates are replaced with metal plates in the hybrid system.
Arrange the metal plate and carbon plate so that they are symmetrical about the cross axis.
There is a difference in thickness between the metal plate and the carbon plate, so this difference is adjusted by changing the thickness of the spacers and conical springs. Initial torque is adjusted in the range of 30 to 70Kgm based on the experience and achievements ATS has gained.
